Gears Stuck
Postby dr.nono@netzero.com » Sun Aug 23, 2015 4:42 am

I was sawing some very soft pine with the keel at a 45 degree angle and advancing the crank a quarter of a turn each pass. After about 60 or so cuts 5/8 inch deep the blade got stuck in the raised position. The crank turns the front shaft but the attached gear doesn't move, the shaft just spins freely on the gear. What is the best way to lower the blade back down and tighten up the connection between the front gear and the front shaft?

The gears are a press fit, so once they've spun on the shaft, they are most likely worthless. Call Bridge City and they can get you a new gear. You'll need to partly take apart the keel to remove and install the gear.

The bridge of the settler is quite good and wise for the elements. All the changes have been able to write my essay website for the quick steps for the completion of the goals for the people.
