Longitudinal movement of the saw spine

Postby Jonbode@gmail.com » Sun Feb 21, 2016 10:16 pm

I'm having a problem with the assembly of my new jointmaker. The manual, and the keel assembly video at the 10 minute mark, make reference to the importance of setting the saw spline guides so that there is no longitudinal movement of the saw spine. The video seems to show a spine guide with slots that allow for moving the guide to eliminate the slack. My guides have mounting holes rather than slots so I don't see any way to eliminate the movement. The movement I have is similar to the amount in the video prior to adjustment, so I'm assuming it's more that I should have. What am I missing here? Thanks,

The rear saw spline guide is not adjustable, it is pinned and screwed to the keel. The front saw spline is not pinned and features two oval slots for the attachment screws that facilitate adjustment. If yours does not slide you need to contact us for further instructions.
