DJ-1 outrigger removal

Postby OwenE » Sat Aug 14, 2010 7:02 am

I need a little help, in light of the universal jaws shipping.

I have extreme difficulty removing the outriggers. I've had them off once or twice, but they're quite reluctant to disconnect. Wiggling, straight pulling both down & out separately, nothing works. I'm pulling hard enough where I'm worried I might bend the slides. Being from Chicago, a little earthy verbal encouragement was offered as well; no luck there either.

Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Owen,

After I read your post, I went to the shop and tried mine, the outriggers and jaws just dropped off after I removed the fasteners. I suggest you send Michael a email and let him know, something isn't right.

Good luck, Rutager

I'm at a stage in my jewelry box project where I need to drill a shallow 1" dia. recess in a veneered panel for my signature and date medallion. It needs to be right on because I can't sand the veneer. This technique is a variation of the one John shows in the DJ-1 video.
