Using Forstner Bits in the DJ-1 Bushings

Postby Michael » Wed May 05, 2010 8:56 am

Some forstner bits are a tight fit in the bushings of the DJ-1. It is recommended that you use a lubricant in the bushing to prevent any seizing of the bit in the bushing. Any type of oil will suffice.

Be careful not to use too much though! You don't want to splatter your work with oil. One safe way to ensure this is to power the drill prior to clamping the DJ-1 to your wood so that any excess is removed.
