attachment for HG-1?

Postby Charles » Tue Dec 07, 2010 6:52 pm

John,

The HG-1 is a beautiful piece. Is there any possibility of offering an attachment that would help fix a skewed chisel/blade to the HG-1?

That plus an additional oval shaped roller and I would jump in line for a new HG-1++. :D

Charles;

The math on the cambered roller makes no sense--unless you want a really curved hone. Somewhere around here I have the proof and when I find it, I will post it.

There is an attachment for the HG-1 in my head for skew chisels, and it is on my agenda for my upcoming work retreat.

John,

Any chance it might also fit a Stanley (LN) 140 blade?

Mike:

This may sound weird, but I have no clue as to what you mean by a Stanley 140 blade...

Sorry John,

I was being too brief. I meant the skew blade for the Stanley 140 plane. Actually the Lie-Nielsen version is probably what most of us have now. It's this one:
