tenon maker question

Postby zapdafish » Mon Nov 22, 2010 4:16 pm

I recently got the kerfmaker and it rocks. So now I will probably get the tenonmaker but have a question about it first.

If my mortise is not centered and I want the join between the two pieces to be flush, Does the tenonmaker handle that?

thnx...Steve

Steve;

Glad you like the Kerfmaker--it does rock!

The TenonMaker does not care that your mortise is off-center, it only cares about the width of the mortise.

The TenonMaker will not self-center the tenon, it will only make it fit the mortise perfectly. You will need to establish one reference line for the first cut, and the TM-1 will take care of the rest.

Make sense?

Steve;

We did first article inspection yesterday. Barring unforeseeable events, we are expecting a Dec. delivery.
