The HP-6 Rabbet Sole & Iron allows you to cut rabbets, edge plane and chamfer plane.

The HP-6 Rabbet Sole includes a removable scoring cutter that precedes the approach of the iron. This scoring cutter makes it impossible to tear the corner of your rabbet cuts! It also makes it possible to cut across the grain rabbets cleanly. When the cutter becomes dull, simply loosen the screw and rotate a "fresh" cutting edge in place. This cutter can also be placed on either side of the sole.

When the rabbet sole is attached without the scoring cutter, the HP-6 functions as a small block plane with a 55-degree attack angle. When you attach the fence posts, fences and the appropriate shop made wood cheeks, you have a fantastic chamfer plane. Finally, the front portion of the sole can be removed, and the HP-6 will serve as a limited chisel plane.
