The upgrade features 2 stout bearing blocks that hold 4 bearings for each table. The bearings slide on induction hardened chromed plated steel rods. The bearings do not need adjustment (factory assembled) and they do not require lubrication. The main advantage over the original system is they are easier to use (much less friction) at the expense of a bit more noise.
The kit include new rails, adapter plates, tables. You can reuse your current fences. They fasten perfectly to all existing JMP’s. Installation involves removing the screws that hold the original dovetail rails in place, lift out the old rail system and replace with the new—a very easy assembly. Most conversions take about an hour to perform.
We recommend this upgrade kit if you would like a lubrication free linear table system that is much more efficient than the original sliding dovetail design.
