Go Back New Combination Square Replacement Blades

New Combination Square Replacement Blades

These blades are expected to be in-stock end of April 2010. Date may be subject to change.

These are replacement/additional  blades for the new CS-12v2 and CS-300 Combination Squares.

The 12" blade has similar to our current CS-6/DSS-6 blade. It has only 1/16" and 1/32" graduations. It reads left to right and right to left, so that when you flip the CS-12v2 over, you have the same scale readings.

The 18 inch Imperial blade is unique—the top scale is a metric centering
rule on one side, and an Imperial centering rule on the other. Finding center
with the metric blade is WAY easier than using Imperial. Second, with the
blade locked at the 9” mark, the tool can be used as a hook rule but it
also allows you to make yourself more familiar with metric equivalents.
(The difficulty people have with metric is estimating—we know when something is approximately 3" long for example. Most don’t have a clue
how to estimate 76 mm).  The other benefits (divide 13-13/16” in thirds vs dividing 350.8 by 3) and other basic math operations that are a major source of error can be avoided with this blade. This is new, and we think you will find it incredibly useful—when we mocked up the prototype and played a bit, we knew, from our woodworking backgrounds
that this was incredibly useful.

The 300mm and 450mm blades have .5mm and 1mm graduations.
These metric blades are NOT like our current CS-6/DSS-6 blades. They are the industry standard layout with opposite edges being the different scales.

Revised Note: These blades are all .085" thick. They SHOULD fit the original CS-12.
