As you can see from the photograph, these knives are stunningly beautiful. Each is a full tang, precisely balanced knife with outstanding cutting performance. The knife blade is centered around a VG10 core and forged with 63 layers of nickel Damascus stainless steel hardened to 60-61 HRC (sharpening is accomplished using your shop flat stones—we recommend either a 4,000 or 8,000 grit stone). The handles are made of Pakkawood, an exceptionally durable resin-impregnated laminated wood designed to retain its just-purchased appearance for the life of the knife.

These notably high grade Damascus steel knives are manufactured by Hattori and are serious alternatives to traditional European chef knives.
