The FC-1 Flushing Chisel makes cleaning unintentional glue excess in joinery a breeze. Additionally, it can really make a difference in cutting dowels, dovetails, tenons, and plugs perfectly flush with the surface. You typically would use the FC-1 Flushing Chisel to “score” or undercut a protruding wood member so when you used a plane for the final flush cut, you will have ZERO tear-out. It is entirely possible for smaller protrusions to be flush cut by using the FC-1 Flushing Chisel alone.
