What Wood Is That?

by Herbert L. Edlin

(Hardcover, 160 pages)

Contains forty actual samples of woods in popular use.

The late Herbert L. Edlin was an expert on many aspects of forestry.  He studied forestry and timber technology at the universities of Edinburgh and Oxford and worked in many parts of the world raising and studying timbers. He based the key to wood identification in What Wood Is That? on one found in an earlier volume of the same title by Dr. Alfred Scwankl, which was published in 1956 and is considered a collector's item.
